Diet-induced obesity (DIO) diets and phenotypes

Research Diets

For several years, we have been collaborating with Research Diets, Inc. to provide DIO mice to the research community. Research Diets offers the widest range of purified diets, harboring constant protein and nutrients, which are used to produce DIO mice. The three most popular DIO diets, D12451i (45 kcal% fat), D12331i - with sucrose (58 kcal% fat), and D12492i (60 kcal% fat), are used extensively by academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnologies institutions.

Comparison tables summarizing metabolic disease phenotypes for eight selected, well characterized or emerging JAX Mice models that together comprise a robust tool set for basic research and therapeutic screening.
