Production, Repository and Breeding Services Facilities (Bar Harbor and Sacramento)

sterilization or disinfection of all supplies and equipment for all Production, Repository and Breeding Services barriers

Maximum barrier: sterilized individually ventilated caging; sterilized feed and drinking water; air shower entry; change into clean room processed scrubs, smock and shoes; gloves, air hat or mask, cap and face shield

High barrier: sterilized individually ventilated caging; sterilized drinking water; sterilized feed; air or wet shower entry; change into clean room processed clothing and shoes; gloves, mask, cap

Standard barrier: static or individually ventilated caging; Pasteurized or sterilized feed; change into clothing and shoes; gloves, mask, cap; restricted entry

Research Animal Facility (RAF) (Bar Harbor)

Elevated barrier: sterilized individually ventilated caging; steam sterilized or irradiated feed; sterilized drinking water; sterilization or disinfection of all supplies and equipment; change into scrubs, sterilized gown, gloves, mask, cap, and sterilized shoes/shoe covers; air shower

Intermediate barrier: static or individually ventilated caging; sterilization or disinfection of all supplies and equipment; gown, gloves, mask, cap, and sterilized shoes/shoe covers

Low barrier: static or individually ventilated caging; gown; gloves

Preclinical Services Facility (PSF) (in vivo rooms, Sacramento)

Level 1 barrier: Level 1 barrier: static or individually ventilated caging; sterilization or disinfection of all supplies and equipment; gloves, mask, cap, change into scrubs, sterilized lab coat (single use) and sterilized shoes/shoe covers; air shower entry

Level 2 barrier: static or individually ventilated caging, sterilization or disinfection of all supplies and equipment, gloves, mask, cag, change into scrubs and sterilized shoes; air shower entry
