JAX® Mice Delivered Throughout the U.S. and Canada

JAX® NOTES Issue 505, Spring 2007

In our experience of shipping JAX® Mice to biomedical researchers all over the world for over 30 years, we have found that the safest and most reliable way to ship mice is by ground transportation. We have established a dedicated ground transportation service consisting of specially-constructed, climate-controlled trucks operated by highly skilled drivers who understand the needs of JAX® Mice and of our customers. Alarms in the trucks alert the drivers to any malfunctions, and replacement parts are quickly accessible from virtually anywhere en route. The mice are packed in state-of-the-art, autoclaved, and sterilized JAX® Mice Shipping Containers within the isolators and barrier facilities in which they were raised. The containers are provisioned with Beta Chip® bedding, a Napa Nectar® water source, and the same feed that the mice were fed during production. The mice experience a clean, safe, comfortable, low-stress ride, and arrive at your facility up to six times less likely to develop stress-related health problems than if shipped under the less controlled conditions of typical overnight air delivery services.

Our transportation service is cost-effective, reliable, and delivers weekly to over 98% of the U.S. and most of Canada (Fig. 1). If this service is available in your area, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of it. If not, we can modify our routes to accommodate large or frequent orders. Alternatively, we can arrange closely controlled air shipments with environmental conditions similar to those of our ground transportation service.
