A recent study (Razavi et al. 2006) using the NOD/ShiLtJ (NOD, 001976, formally NOD/LtJ) mouse proposes new pathophysiological mechanisms and therapies for insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) or type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Phenotypes of Two JAX® Mice Strains Being Restored
We are in the process of replacing two JAX® Mice strain colonies, whose phenotypes are gradually deteriorating due to genetic drift, with stocks derived from embryos cryopreserved early in the history of these strains (and therefore not affected by genetic drift).
