Improved: Strain Data Sheets for JAX® Mice

JAX® NOTES Issue 511, Fall 2008

Find the information you need about JAX® Mice quickly! Move from one type of information to another and back with ease! It's all possible, thanks to an improved tab-formatted redesign of JAX® Mice Strain Data Sheets.

To see for yourself, go to the strain data sheet for Stock Number 000664. Here's what you’ll see (Figure 1):

  • Top of the page: introductory information, including strain name, stock number, availability, common names, and a very brief introduction. Please note that the indicated availability level of a strain features a popup explaining the details of the strain's availability when you hold the cursor over the text. 
  • Middle of the page: seven tabs - Description, Phenotype, Genes & alleles, Genotyping, Health & husbandry, References, and Purchasing information
  • Bottom of the page: tab-specific content

The top area of the data sheet remains the same as you toggle through each tab.

The seven tabs display pop-up summaries of tab-specific content when the cursor is held over them. They link to the standard information found on previous Strain Data Sheets, except that some information appears as follows:

            • Former strain names now appear in the "Description" section
            • The "Description" section may contain a picture of the mouse of interest, especially if it is one of our 41 most popular strains
            • All references are included in one "Reference" section (there is no longer an "Additional References" section)
            • Pricing, according to shipping destination, can be selected easily and directly from the Strain Data Sheet
            • Control information is now in the "Purchasing information" section

Pricing specials, services, and other announcements will be displayed with graphics and link to further information.
