Production Increased on Four JAX® Mice Strains
JAX® NOTES Issue 514, Summer 2009
To better serve the biomedical research community, we have increased the production of the following JAX® Mice strains:
B6.129-Tlr2tm1Kir/J 004650
This targeted mutant strain may be used to research host response (such as septic shock) to bacterial endotoxins.
B6.SJL-Ptprca Pepcb/BoyJ 002014
This popular congenic strain is commonly used in transplantation studies.
B6C3-Tg(APPswe,PSEN1dE9)85Dbo/J 004462
This double transgenic strain is widely used to research aging and Alzheimer's disease. It expresses a chimeric mouse/human amyloid precursor protein (Mo/HuAPP695swe) and a mutant human presenilin 1 (PS1-dE9) both directed to CNS neurons. Both mutations are associated with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
C57BL/6NJ 005304
This is the most genetically stable B6N strain available. It was recovered from stocks frozen in 1997 and is part of our Genetic Stability Program to significantly curtail genetic drift.
