LPS Responsiveness of C3H Substrains
JAX® NOTES Issue 430, July 1987
LPS Response
Staff scientist Dr. L. Shultz tested the following JAX substrains for LPS sensitivity by injection of 1.0mg E. coli lipopolysaccharide (0127: B8-Difco):

Endotoxin
The results clearly show that the C3H/HeJ are endotoxin resistant (Lpsd) while the C3HeB/FeJ and C3H/HeSnJ mice are endotoxin sensitive (Lpsn). These results are consistent with the current literature on LPS responses in C3H substrains and their known pedigree history.
