MICE were developed at The Jackson Laboratory (TJL) and include material from a strain developed at the NIH. MICE are subject to US Patent 5,912,173 held by the NIH.

MICE are available to non profit research institutions under an MTA. Researchers who have already signed an MTA with TJL can disregard this notice; otherwise an MTA will be forwarded for approval when an order is placed.  Companies and for profit entities require a license prior to shipping.
