This mouse strain (including any and all progeny, "MICE") is distributed by The Jackson Laboratory with the following terms and conditions.    

Use of MICE by companies or for-profit entities requires a license from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas ("INSTITUTION") prior to shipping.

As a service to the biomedical research community, The Jackson Laboratory ("JACKSON") provides MICE to recipient solely for research purposes. Recipient agrees that the MICE will not be bred for sale nor distributed to any third parties outside the recipient's institution, and will be used solely for research purposes. Recipient understands that supply of the MICE does not include a license under any relevant patent rights. The original source of the MICE is the INSTITUTION. The MICE were created in a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) laboratory at INSTITUTION. Use of these MICE by for-profit entities or for Commercial Purposes also requires a license from INSTITUTION that can be obtained by contacting the office listed above.

Commercial purposes shall include uses of the MICE or their descendants by any organization, including recipient, in any research or consulting that is subject to obligations to any third party, other than obligations to (i) the U.S. government resulting from research that is funded by the U.S government or (ii) a not-for-profit organization resulting from research that is funded by such organization, provided that the obligations to such organization are limited to granting rights in research results for non-commercial research purposes only.

THESE MICE ARE EXPERIMENTAL IN NATURE AND JACKSON MAKES NO REPRESENTATION AND EXTENDS NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ANY WARRANTY OF NON-INFRINGEMENT OF ANY PATENT, TRADEMARK, OR OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS.

In no event shall JACKSON, HHMI or INSTITUTION be liable for any use of the MICE, and recipient hereby agrees to defend, indemnify and hold JACKSON, HHMI and INSTITUTION harmless from any loss, claim, damage or liability which may arise from recipient's use, storage and disposal of the MICE.
