Cryopreserved - Ready for recovery
These transgenic mice express the mouse Il7 (interleukin-7) gene under the control of the mouse H2-Ea (histocompatibility 2, class II antigen E alpha) promoter. The transgene is overexpressed in MHC class II positive including the medullary thymic epithelium and B lymphocytes. 25% of transgenic mice on a C57BL/6 background develop lymphoid tumors and tumor incidence increases with age. Lymphoproliferative disorder is detected in mutant mice as young as 6 weeks of age (enlarged lymph nodes, remodeled bone, predominance of lymphoid cells in bone marrow cavity, increased number of circulating lymphoid cells). The majority of tumors occur in mice 4 to 6 months of age. The number of follicular B cells is significantly increased but the number of marginal zone B cells remains constant in transgenic mice. The total number of T cells is increased 10 to 20 fold. Homozygotes are viable, however, homozygous males have reduced lifespan due to lymphoma development. This mutant .....

005342 C57BL/6J-Il7hlb368/J
Cryopreserved - Ready for recovery
Mice that are homozygous for the mutation are viable, fertile, normal in size and do not display any gross physical or behavioral abnormalities. Screening of third generation mice (G3) on standard chow identified an 8 week old male (born 4/7/2003) with a CBC of 1.50 x 103 WBC/ul (84% lower than controls); testing two weeks later produced a result of 2.51 WBC/ul (74% lower than controls). This mutant mouse strain may be useful in studies of leukopenia.
