| The Uoxin homozygous phenotype has incomplete penetrance. While 63% of Uoxin homozygotes die by 12-14 days of age, those that live to adulthood generally live a normal breeding life span. Homozygous adults display chronic polyuria, increased serum BUN and creatinine levels, and hydronephrosis with a concomitant inflammatory response that is followed by glomerular and tubular dilation.
