Recycling information
- Remove the top of the box by firmly grasping the box. By running your fingers under the overhanging lip of the top of the box, you will find eight half-circle notches, two on each side of the box. These are the retainers. Pull the cover out until the retainer clears the lip of the base (it's easiest to start with a long side). Maintain the pressure used to clear the lip or the box will snap shut again. Continue the process with each retainer around the top of the box until you can separate the top from the box.
- Remove the address labels and as many of the other labels as possible.
- Wash the components in your cage wash facility and allow to dry.
- Stack six bases inside each other and stack the six tops on top of the top base. Secure with reinforced strapping or fiber-reinforced packing tape by going around the bundles in both directions.
- Submit a request for shipping container recycling labels.
Return information
Minimum lots of six nested and strapped containers with lids can be sent free of charge to the 3rd party recycling facility by using an authorized return label. To obtain these return labels, use the shipping container recycling label request form. Future shipping containers will incorporate up to 25% of the JAX® Mice recycled shipping containers.
