JAX® Mice shipping containers

We at The Jackson Laboratory are highly committed to the genetic integrity and health of JAX® Mice. We ship all of them in state-of-the-art shipping containers designed* to make them as comfortable as possible and restrict exposing them to undesirable infectious agents. All containers are autoclaved and sterilized before they are packed. All JAX® Mice are packed within the isolators and barrier facilities in which they were raised.

Container Features

  • Clear lid windows for easily inspecting during transit (5).
  • Superior airflow through openings on two sides and top (2).
  • Ideal size for packing and unpacking mice within a hood.
  • Sonic-welded filter (3).
  • Divider insert converts container to either one or two compartments (4).
  • Mice provided with gelatinized water packets for moisture during transit.

Container Dimensions

  • Outside Dimensions: 17.875" long, 11.375" wide, 7.5" high.
  • Inside Floor Space: 14.625" long, 8" wide.
  • Nested Size (6 bottom sections and 6 top sections): 17.875" long, 11.375" wide, 22" high.

Container Costs

Our shipping containers are ideal for transporting mice within your facility. Costs are as follows:

  • $12.50 each when shipped with orders of mice.
  • about $26 each when shipped alone (costs vary with number bought and destination). New containers shipped alone are sent via UPS.
