We recommend and can arrange ground transportation in dedicated, climate-controlled vehicles for most locations in the U.S.A. and Canada. We can arrange air transport to Mexico. If ground transportation is not available to your location, we can arrange for air shipment of your orders. We ship all mice in protective, filtered containers. We have been shipping JAX® Mice to biomedical researchers throughout the world for over 30 years. Our dedicated ground transportation network provides safe, cost-effective, weekly transport for JAX® Mice to over 99% of the U.S.A. and most of Canada.

New this year!
This year we have expanded our ground transportation routing to include major cities in the Southwest, specifically in Arizona and New Mexico. This additional routing offers increased flexibility for researchers in those areas to procure JAX® Mice from our California or Maine locations.
We take pride in our shipping services. Specially-constructed trucks engineered with environmental control systems facilitate sanitation and air flow and ensure that JAX® Mice experience a low-stress, clean, comfortable, and safe ride. The environmental control systems alert drivers to any malfunctions, and replacement parts are quickly accessible from virtually anywhere en route. Highly skilled drivers understand the needs of JAX® Mice and of our customers.
All JAX® Mice are packed within the isolators and barrier facilities in which they are raised. They are shipped in our state-of-the-art autoclaved and sterilized JAX® Mice Shipping Containers. The containers are supplied with Beta Chip® bedding, Napa Nectar® water source, and the same feed that the mice are fed during production. Mice shipped by this method arrive clean and in excellent health after journeys of up to 10 days.
Our experience shows that mice shipped via our ground transportation service arrive at your facility up to six times less likely to develop stress-related health problems than those shipped via the less controlled conditions of most economical overnight air delivery services. If our service does not currently deliver to your facility, we can modify our delivery routes for large or recurring orders. Alternately, we can arrange closely controlled air shipments with environmental conditions similar to those in our ground transportation service.

Shipping and Container Charges
We base shipping charges on the number of containers used for shipment. Shipping charges are prepaid and itemized on invoices. We may use more containers if mice originate from either different rooms or cages, if mice are aggressive and must be maintained at low densities, or if transportation regulations and animal welfare concerns require shipping in lower densities.
