Use of these strains may be subject to US patent 5,925,803 "Testing method using transgenic mice expressing an oncogene" (.pdf), and Canadian Patent 1341442 held by Harvard University and licensed to E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company (DuPont). Mice identified as "OncoMouse®" in the JAX Mice Price List, Catalog, and web pages are provided under the following Conditions of Use required by DuPont:

The animal(s) contained within this shipment are produced and distributed under patent rights licensed from DuPont. The recipient of the animal(s) is NOT authorized to breed, cross-breed, reproduce, transfer possession of, or otherwise make ANY use (including use for research purposes) of the animal(s) or biological material derived therefrom (including without limitation cells, eggs or embryos), without first obtaining a license from DuPont. Any making, using, offering to sell, or selling of the animal(s) or any biological material derived therefrom without an appropriate license will be considered an infringement of the patent rights by DuPont.
