Effective September 26, 2007: license requirements for strains using "Cre-lox" technology only apply in Canada

Use of the "Cre-lox" mice only requires a license from either DuPont or Bristol-Myers Squibb Company if used by organizations with shipping or billing addresses in Canada. Contact information for Bristol-Myers Squibb and DuPont is given below and is also available from applicable Strain data sheets on the JAX® Mice Database on this Web site. If your company or institution already holds a license for use of "Cre-lox" mice (see *Note below), your order will be released immediately.

Mice subject to Canadian Patent CA1293460 are identified as “Cre-lox Animals” mice in the JAX® Mice Price List, Catalog, and web pages. Bristol-Myers Squibb and DuPont have certain rights to grant licenses under CA1293460 to use "Cre-lox Animals." The Jackson Laboratory may only distribute mice to companies and institutions that hold a license from Bristol-Myers Squibb or DuPont (see *Note below).
