Prices are subject to change without prior notice. Prices for JAX® Mice strains and cells are in U.S. dollars, F.O.B. shipping origin, with freight prepaid and invoiced. The most current pricing can be found on the our website.

Strains maintained in small breeding colonies

We maintain some strains in very small breeding colonies and do not maintain inventory of these strains until we receive an order. We ship these mice when they become available, usually when they are between four to eight weeks old. Prices for these strains do not vary by age.
Please note: We will try to fulfill your requests for specific ages of mice from these strains, but fulfilling such requests may delay delivery.

Littermates

For International orders (outside the U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico), the price for littermates is list price for the mouse plus $11.40 per mouse (weaning age only).
Please note: For most inbred strain backgrounds, littermates are not necessarily more genetically similar than are closely related mice from the same colony.

Special requests

Available in the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico only. Special requests may delay order fulfillment.

  • Specific age in days: Price by age in weeks plus 5.00 per mouse
  • Mice 17 days old or younger: List price plus $5.00 per mouse plus lactating female price
    Please note: Mice 17 days old or younger are shipped with lactating females and are not guaranteed to survive shipment.
  • Natural mother: 180% current list price of a six-week-old mouse.
  • Littermates: List price plus $8.75 per mouse (weaning age only).
    Please note:     For most inbred strain backgrounds, littermates are not more genetically similar than are closely related mice from the same colony.

Retired breeders

Pricing for retired breeders is 90% of current pricing for six-week-old list price mice. Shipments of retired breeders from small colonies may take several months. Partial shipments are recommended to reduce wait time.
Please note: Retired breeders are from active breeding colonies. We do not guarantee that females will NOT be pregnant when they are shipped.

Pregnant females

Available in the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico only. Please see our webpage for timed pregnant female mice.

Controls for Genetically Engineered and Mutant Strains

In addition to producing affected mutant progeny, segregating strains may produce wild-type or noncarrier mice, which are available as controls at the prices listed below:

  • Free of charge for up to the number of mutant mice ordered (no specific age or gender requirements)
  • For mice in excess of the number of mutant mice ordered or for specific age or gender requirements:
    • $54.35 per mouse for shipments in the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico only
    • $70.70 per mouse for shipments to International destinations

The term "noncarrier" is used instead of the term "wild-type" for all mice in transgenic colonies that do not carry the transgene.
Please note: Age-matched and gender-matched controls are available upon request, but, if taken from small colonies, may delay shipment.

There are additional charges for control mice with specific genotypes.

Controls are NOT available for strains maintained with a homozygote x homozygote breeding scheme. Suitable controls are indicated on the strain datasheets (search JAX® Mice Database).
