Reproductive biology

The Jackson Laboratory offers over 171 different strains for reproductive biology research. Learn about our JAX® Mice and other resources to support biomedical research:

Additionally, The Jackson Laboratory offers services to support biomedical research, courses on how to best use the mouse as a discovery tool, Web-accessible bioinformatics resources, and discoveries from our own research.

Women's health resource manual

This Manual describes our role in distributing a new mouse model of menopause, our program for generating new mouse models of infertility, women’s health research conducted by Jackson Laboratory scientists, courses we offer related to women’s health, selected JAX® Mice models applicable to women’s health research, and multiple resources related to women’s health.

Mouse model list for reproductive biology research

The Reproductive Biology Mouse Model list (updated July 2003) is available in PDF format. Mouse models lists are designed to assist investigators in the selection of appropriate JAX® Mice for different research areas.

Reproductive Genomics Program

The Reproductive Genomics Program at The Jackson Laboratory is funded by a Program Project grant from the Institute of Child Health and Human Development PO1 HD42137.

The goal of the program is to use random chemical mutagenesis of the genome to produce mouse models of infertility. At least 800 families of mice will be screened for infertility mutations over the next 4 years in a strategy that will produce over 100 mutant models.
