Study-ready induced models
Focus on your research, not your mice
Our study-ready animals can help save you time, labor and space. We'll prepare your animals for study according to your exact specifications, and ship them to you as needed. All projects are performed in state-of-the-art facilities by our experienced and highly skilled staff.
Diet-induced obesity (DIO) models
Study-ready male C57BL/6J DIO male mice which have been fed a high fat diet from 6 weeks of age. These mice can be used to study the genetic and physiological mechanisms of obesity and type 2 diabetes. We also create custom DIO mice to order based upon your unique specifications (strain, gender, diet, length of feeding, etc.).
Streptozotocin-induced (STZ-induced) diabetes
We offer a streptozotocin-induced (STZ-induced) diabetes service which is based on a multiple low dose STZ (MDSTZ) protocol developed and tested at The Jackson Laboratory.
Aging service
Disease conditions develop with age in some mouse models. We will maintain your research strain, or any JAX® Mice strain, and deliver mice to you at ages appropriate for your studies.
Alopecia areata mouse model
The first reliable commercially available mouse model for Alopecia Areata (AA). AA is induced by grafting a small piece of skin from an older, donor animal with AA onto a younger, isogenic C3H/HeJ recipient. These mice are shipped to you study-ready.
VCD-induced model of menopause
This model can help reveal the genetic and physiological dynamics and associations between both menopause and hormone replacement therapy and susceptibility to age-related, chronic, and cumulative diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, and stroke.
