Surgical and histological services

Our surgical and tissue collection services are available from our AAALAC-accredited facilities in Bar Harbor, Maine and Sacramento, California. All surgical procedures are performed within HEPA-filtered, positive pressure surgical suites by our experienced and highly skilled staff using aseptic technique in a laminar flow hood. Animals (or tissues) are prepared according to your specifications and following an appropriate recovery period, they are packed and shipped directly to you. Histological sample preparation services are also available for specimens ranging from the whole animal to select tissues.

Surgical & tissue collection services

Our expert surgeons can perform over 60 types of standard and custom surgical procedures to meet even the most demanding research requirements. All surgeries are performed in surgical suites within a barrier facility so mice are maintained at the appropriate health status. If live animals are not required, we can collect and ship tissues or fluid samples at your request.

Histology services

Available for JAX® Mice strains and customer strains maintained at our Maine and California facilities. Both routine and specialized histological methods are available.
