J Coppock trapped wild mice in Nana Village, in Rimac Valley, Peru,and ME Wallace, University of Cambridge, developed an inbred strain from them in 1972. ME Wallace sent breeders from this inbred to EM Eicher at The Jackson Laboratory in 1987.
