Mating System Sibling x Sibling (Female x Male) 01-MAR-06 Species M. m. musculus Generation F?+F61 (23-OCT-09) Geographic Origin Skive, Denmark Appearance
white-bellied agouti
Related Genotype: Aw/AwDevelopment
Founder mice were trapped in Skive, Denmark by JT Nielsen in 1974 and maintained as an outbred or random-bred stock by V Chapman at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (Ferris et al. 1983b). Mice received from Chapman by EM Eicher at The Jackson Laboratory in 1979 were inbred to produce the SKIVE/Ei strain. Nuclear DNA of Chapman's stock was identified as being of M. musculus origin, while mitochondrial DNA is of M. domesticus origin (Ferris, Sage and Wilson 1983; Ferris et al. 1983a, b).

Delivery for orders of 10 mice or less ranges on average from one to eight weeks; mice are generally shipped between four to six weeks of age with a maximum shipping age of approximately nine weeks. Colony sizes do not generally support stringent age specifications for large volumes of mice; however custom orders and larger quantities of mice are easily arranged. Estimated ship dates for all orders provided within two business days following order placement. |
