Former Names C57BL/6J-pun+4J/J (Changed: 11-FEB-08 ) Type Coisogenic; Mutant Strain; Spontaneous Mutation; Additional information on Genetically Engineered and Mutant Mice. Visit our online Nomenclature tutorial. Species laboratory mouse Generation N48 F20+5 Description
Homozygotes and heterozygotes for this revertant allele are phenotypically indistinguishable from wild-type.Development
The C57BL/6J-Oca2p-un+4J strain was created by mating Oca2p-un individuals having at least 50% wild-type pigmentation to nonmosaic Oca2p-un/Oca2p-un sibs. Pigmented offspring of this mating were intercrossed to obtain mice homozygous for the revertant allele.
