Nucleotides -184 too +28 of the promoter of rat intestinal fatty acid binding protein were obtained as a BstEII-EcoRI fragment and fused to nucleotide +3 of the human growth hormone sequence. This was microinjected into (C57BL/6J x C3H) F1 oocytes and the offspring were backcrossed once then intercrossed. Details of subsequent breeding prior to cryopreservation are not known. This line derived from founder #54. (Cohn et al., 1992.)
