| Strain of Origin | (C57BL/6 x SJL)F2 | ||
| Expressed Gene | H2-Ea, histocompatibility 2, class II antigen E alpha, mouse, laboratory | ||
| Molecular Note | A 9 kb fragment of the H2-Ea(k) from the A/J mouse (clone lambdaA/J p34.13) was modified at 3 positions creating the WE32 construct (modified H2-Ea). This was used as the basis for a mutant H2-Ea gene having a deletion of the X box (from position -93 to -80). The resulting 8.2 kb transgenic construct WEdeltaX21 was injected into (C57BL/6 x SJL)F2 embryo pronuclei. Multiple lines - 5. 16, 23, and 24, were derived, and 16 was donated to The Jackson Laboratory. S1 nuclease mapping shows that H2-Ea mRNA is expressed in the spleen but initiation of most transcripts is aberrant, occurring at scattered positions throughout the 5' end. [MGI Ref ID J:135138] | ||
