Mice homozygous for the WapIgf1 transgene are viable and fertile.The transgene is expressed at high levels during lactation and post-lactation. There were no obvious changes in mammary gland histomorphology during lactation, but at 5 to 10 days post-lactation, there was a delay in involution and decreased apoptosis.
