Former Names B6C3Fe a/a-Meox2J/J (Changed: 11-SEP-07 ) Type Mutant Strain; Spontaneous Mutation; Additional information on Genetically Engineered and Mutant Mice. Visit our online Nomenclature tutorial. Species laboratory mouse Generation N18 Development
This spontaneous mutation arose on B6C3Fe a/a-Napahyh/J at The Jackson Laboratory in 1995. Mice carrying the mutation were crossed to B6C3Fe a/a F1 hybrids to breed away from the hyh allele. The strain was maintained by crossing homozygous mutant females to B6C3Fe F1 males, and then as a heterozygote x heterozygote cross to generate homozygotes. In 2007, heterozygous embryos were cryopreserved.
