| Molecular Note | A neomycin resistance cassette replaced all of exon 4 and parts of exons 3 and 5 of the gene. Northern blots of liver from heterozygous and homozygous mutant mice showed decreased levels of mRNA and no detectable mRNA, respectively, for the gene of interest. Enzymatic activity in both pancreatic islet cells and liver from heterozygous mutant mice was approximately 60% of wild-type littermates. Enzymatic activity in liver from homozygous mutant mice was undetectable. [MGI Ref ID J:29255] | ||
