Additional information on Congenic nomenclature. Mating System Homozygote x Hemizygote (Female x Male) 16-APR-07 Species laboratory mouse Generation ?+N2F4 (31-DEC-08) Description
This targeted mutant was created and characterized by Deltagen, Inc. View phenotypic data developed by Deltagen.Development
The construct insert is reported to be "SA-IRES-lacZ-Neo555G/Kan." Upon arrival at The Jackson Laboratory, these mice had been backcrossed at least 6 generations to C57BL/6 mice.

| Molecular Note | A bacterial lacZ gene was inserted into the gene such that the endogenous gene promoter drives expression of beta-galactosidase. RT-PCR analysis detects a high level of gene transcript in spleen, lymph nodes and ovary, moderate levels in cerebellum, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, thymus, bone marrow, skin, gallbladder, urinary bladder, pituitary gland, adrenal gland, salivary gland, colon, epididymis, seminal vesicle, coagulating gland, uterus and white fat, and low levels in whole brain, cortex, subcortical region, brainstem, olfactory bulb, spinal cord, eye, Harderian glands, heart, skeletal muscle, tongue, stomach, small intestine, cecum, testis and prostate gland. However, faint beta-galactosidase expression from this allele is detectable in onlyin whole mount brain. | ||

| Standard Supply | Repository-Live. A collection of over 1000 strains maintained as live colonies. Individual colonies are sized to meet current customer demand. Delivery for orders of 10 mice or less ranges on average from one to eight weeks; mice are generally shipped between four to six weeks of age with a maximum shipping age of approximately nine weeks. Colony sizes do not generally support stringent age specifications for large volumes of mice; however custom orders and larger quantities of mice are easily arranged. Estimated ship dates for all orders provided within two business days following order placement. |
