Generation DefinitionsDescription
This targeted mutant was created and characterized by Deltagen, Inc. View phenotypic data developed by Deltagen.Development
The construct insert is reported to be "Lac0-SA-IRES-lacZ-Neo555G/Kan." Upon arrival, these mice had been backcrossed four generations to C57BL/6. During the importation process at The Jackson Laboratory, at least one additional backcross to C57BL/6J mice was performed. The resulting mice are backcrossed a total of at least five generations.

Gpr6tm1Dgen/Gpr6tm1Dgen
B6.129P2-Gpr6tm1Dgen
- behavior/neurological phenotype
- abnormal associative learning
- instrumental-conditioning is reduced compared to in wild-type mice that acquire the bar-pressing response to obtain food faster and reach higher asymptotic performance after more extensive training (MGI Ref ID J:126659)
- however, sensitivity to devaluation in instrumental conditioning remains normal and appetite motivated response to auditory cued conditioning is normal (MGI Ref ID J:126659)
- mice are more sensitive to devaluation than wild-type mice in an auditory cued conditioning experiment (MGI Ref ID J:126659)
- under a progressive ratio 5 schedule, mice respond at higher rates and earn more food reward than wild-type mice and in omission testing mice continue to press the level compared to wild-type mice that stop (MGI Ref ID J:126659)
- nervous system phenotype
- abnormal striatum morphology
The following phenotype information may relate to a genetic background differing from this JAX® Mice strain.
Gpr6tm1Dgen/Gpr6tm1Dgen
involves: 129P2/OlaHsd * C57BL/6
- normal phenotype
- no abnormal phenotype detected
- no significant differences in physical examinations, necropsy including body length, body weight, and organ weight measurements, histological examination of tissues and organs, bone marrow section evaluations, complete blood counts and differentials, clinical chemistry panels, densitometry or behavioral tests detected in the homozygous mutant mice when compared with age- and gender-matched wild-type control mice (MGI Ref ID J:101679)

| Site of Expression | lacZ expression mimics endogenous gene expression and is detected in the brain, eyes and pituitary gland. | ||
| Expressed Gene | lacZ, beta-galactosidase, E. coli | ||
| Molecular Note | A bacterial lacZ gene was inserted into the gene such that the endogenous gene promoter drives expression of beta-galactosidase. RT-PCR analysis detects a high level of gene transcript in the whole brain, cortex, subcortical region, pancreas, pituitary gland and adrenal gland, moderate levels in cerebellum, olfactory bulb, eye, heart, liver, thymus, lymph nodes, skin, salivary gland, large intestine and prostate gland and low levels in kidney, spleen, testis and seminal vesicle. Beta-galactosidase expression from this allele is detectable in brain, eyes and pituitary gland. Strong expression was detected in several regions of the brain, including the caudate putamen, cortex, thalamus and hippocampus. Moderate expression was detected in some cells in the inner nuclear layer of the retina. In the pituitary gland, moderate staining was observed in many cells of the pars intermedia. Cryopreserved Mice - Ready for Recovery
Animals Provided
Price (US dollars $) Cryorecovery* $2250.00 At least two mice that carry the mutation (if it is a mutant strain) will be provided. Their genotypes may not reflect those discussed in the strain description. Please inquire for possible genotypes and see additional details below.
Standard Supply
Cryopreserved. Ready for recovery. Please refer to pricing and supply notes on the strain data sheet for further information.
Supply Notes
- Cryorecovery - Standard.
Progeny testing is not required.
The average number of mice provided from recovery of our cryopreserved strains is 10. The total number of animals provided, their gender and genotype will vary. We will fulfill your order by providing at least two pair of mice, at least one animal of each pair carrying the mutation of interest. Please inquire if larger numbers of animals with specific genotype and genders are needed. Animals typically ship between 11 and 14 weeks from the date of your order. If a second cryorecovery is needed in order to provide the minimum number of animals, animals will ship within 25 weeks. IMPORTANT NOTE: The genotypes of animals provided may not reflect the mating scheme utilized by The Jackson Laboratory prior to cryopreservation, or that discussed in the strain description. Please inquire about possible genotypes which will be recovered for this specific strain. The Jackson Laboratory cannot guarantee the reproductive success of mice shipped to your facility. If the mice are lost after the first three days (post-arrival) or do not produce progeny at your facility, a new order and fee will be necessary.Cryorecovery to establish a Dedicated Supply for greater quantities of mice.
Mice recovered can be used to establish a dedicated colony to contractually supply you mice according to your requirements. Price by quotation. For more information on Dedicated Supply, please contact JAX® Services, Tel: 1-800-422-6423 (from U.S.A., Canada or Puerto Rico only) or 1-207-288-5845 (from any location).
