Type Coisogenic; Mutant Strain; Spontaneous Mutation; Additional information on Genetically Engineered Mutant Mice. Species laboratory mouse Generation F233+11p Development
The underwhite like mutation (uwl) arose spontaneously in the C57BL/6J colony at The Jackson Laboratory in 2004, when that strain was at F223, and has been maintained on that background ever since.

| General Note | The underwhite-like (uwl) mutation is thought to be a remutation to Slc45a2, and allelic to the original underwhite mutation (Slc45a2uw). However, a noncomplementation test was not done since the original underwhite mutation is only availableas cryopreserved embryos. | ||
This strain will not have a genotyping protocol or one is not currently available.
