Related Genotype: A/ADescription
129S1.NOD-H2g7 congenic mice are viable, fertile, normal in size, do not display any gross physical or behavioral abnormalities and are diabetes free. Because targeted mutations frequently are made using 129 ES cells, this strain may be useful for identifying Idds in 129 strains.Development
Idd1, linked to the major histocompatibility locus, is located on Chr 17. This 129S1 congenic strain, carrying a defined genomic segment of Chr 17 from NOD/LtJ that includes Idd1 (19.5cM) and H2g7 (23cM), was produced by mating mice from 129S1/SvImJ (Stock No. 002448) to NOD/ShiLtJ (Stock No. 001976) for seven generations (N7) with selection for H2g7 by FACS analysis at each generation. Sibs were intercrossed to generate mice homozygous for the NOD genomic segment (5.3cM), D17Mit175 (31571388-31571496) through H2g7 (23cM). In addition, the strain also carries genomic markers D17Mit16 (33207435-33207557), D17Mit21 (33851425-33851562) and D17Mit34 (34352109-34352255) derived from NOD/ShiLtJ origin, while D17Mit213 (16319811-16319934) and D17Mit24 (37090217-37090359) are from 129S1/SvImJ. Genome scans using SNPS markers indicate that the rest of the genome is derived from 129S1/SvImJ.

| Standard Supply | Repository-Live. A collection of over 1000 strains maintained as live colonies. Individual colonies are sized to meet current customer demand. Delivery for orders of 10 mice or less ranges on average from one to eight weeks; mice are generally shipped between four to six weeks of age with a maximum shipping age of approximately nine weeks. Colony sizes do not generally support stringent age specifications for large volumes of mice; however custom orders and larger quantities of mice are easily arranged. Estimated ship dates for all orders provided within two business days following order placement. |
