Mating System Homozygote x Homozygote (Female x Male) 14-JUN-08 Species laboratory mouse Generation ?+N2F4 (18-NOV-09) Donating Investigator Peter Mombaerts, Max Planck Institute of Biophysics Description
Olfactory sensory neurons that express the olfactory receptor Olfr151 also co-express the tauGFP fusion protein by virtue of IRES-mediated co-translation. These neurons can be revealed by the intrinsic fluorescence of GFP, or by immunofluorescence with anti-GFP antibodies.Development
Homologous recombination to generate this allele was done in 129P2/OlaHsd derived E14 ES cells. The loxP-flanked neo cassette was then removed by transient transfection of cre recombinase prior to injection of these ES cells into blastocysts. The resulting mice were bred to C57BL/6 and intercrossed. The plasmid that was used to generate this mutation is banked and described at Addgene.

Olfr151tm26Mom/Olfr151+
involves: 129P2/OlaHsd * C57BL/6
- nervous system phenotype
- abnormal olfactory bulb morphology (MGI Ref ID J:90716)
- glomeruli in heterozygotes containing the C57BL/6 pseudogene are reduced from ~50 um diameter to ~32 um in diameter
- abnormal sensory neuron innervation (MGI Ref ID J:90716)
- there is ~50% reduction of axonal inputs innervating glomeruli; all axons are of Olfr151
Olfr151tm26Mom/Olfr151tm26Mom
involves: 129P2/OlaHsd * C57BL/6
- no phenotypic analysis
- *normal* no phenotypic analysis (MGI Ref ID J:91160)
- used for expression analysis only

| Standard Supply | Repository-Live. A collection of over 1000 strains maintained as live colonies. Individual colonies are sized to meet current customer demand. Delivery for orders of 10 mice or less ranges on average from one to eight weeks; mice are generally shipped between four to six weeks of age with a maximum shipping age of approximately nine weeks. Colony sizes do not generally support stringent age specifications for large volumes of mice; however custom orders and larger quantities of mice are easily arranged. Estimated ship dates for all orders provided within two business days following order placement. |
