Type Mutant Stock; Targeted Mutation; Species laboratory mouse Donating Investigator Edward De Robertis, University of California, Los Angeles Description
Homozygous mutants survive a few weeks after birth, but display polycystic kidney disease. LacZ expression was observed in the Henson's node at embryonic day 7.5 and in the endoderm of the gut at embryonic day 8.5Development
A targeting vector was used to place an in-frame LacZ reporter gene in the first exon of the gene at the initiator methionine and insert a neomycin resistance cassette downstream of the LacZ cassette. The targeting vector was introduced to LW1 129S4/SvJae-derived embryonic stem (ES) cells. This line has been backcrossed to B6SJLF1/J for 14 generations by the donating laboratory.
